The Selby - Violet

Welcome to my neighbourhood. It was such a pleasant surprise to see The Selby feature one of my local bakeries Violet. Located on route to broadway market, they serve great coffee and a delicious array of sweet treats. One of the best things about living in East London is the variety of independent businesses and entrepreneurs.

Quentin Jones - Express Yourself

As always Quentin Jones has excelled herself, although I would say that because I absolutely love how she collates photography, collage and painting. Her latest editorial for i-D magazine demonstrates her take on street culture.

One to Watch - Photographer Michael Wolf

Morning peeps, check out the photography by Michael Wolf, 'Life in Cities'.
The images below are taken in Hong Kong, great reference for colour palettes, print development etc.
I love their linear quality and variation of subtle tones.

Fotografiska - Helmut Newton Exhibition, Stockholm

I spent the weekend in Stockholm, travelling by boat to the Archipelago islands, drinking wine in the sun and visiting the City. I timed it just right with perfect weather, company and exhibitions.

The Helmut Newton exhibit was extensive and well presented, staged at Fotografiska.  A documentary ran in the gallery giving a clear insight into Helmut's work ethic, humour and inspiration. His radical images tell a story and evoke the lives and lifestyle of the individual. He had a vivid and perverse imagination, the majority of the photographs within the exhibition are as relevant today as they were when they were shot.

One To Watch - Hanna Putz

I find these images breath taking. Hanna Putz's observation of people is natural and raw definitely one to watch.
