Fall 2015 Menswear Overview

Although I am a womenswear designer I am always drawn to menswear. Whether that is due to the intrinsic attention to detail, finishings, linear aspect who knows. So far the collections that I most relate to are Louis Vuitton, Loewe and Lemaire. Each show shows classicism but with new found energy, I put this down to the creative minds behind these brands. Which include Kim jones, J.W. Anderson and Christopher Lemaire.

My Picks - JW Anderson SS15 RTW

The oversized floppy fisherman hat took centre stage at JW Anderson's SS15 show. The bigger the better, so some may say.

Garments had an architectural feel. Geometric shapes were constructed in leather and added through details such as the oversized buttons and lapels.

Loewe Spring 15 Menswear Collection

It's arrived, Jonathan Anderson's new-look for Loewe. With a reworked logo, campaign and e-commerce website. So what are your initial thoughts? Anderson has embraced the brands Spanish heritage but with a more relaxed and modern feel. Looking at the campaign below there are a lot of traditional techniques used to create lux leatherwear, knitwear and wovens. I have to admit when I lived in Galicia I didn't buy a single item from Loewe.

Having said that after seeing this range I feel the brand is rejuvenated, my wish-list has begun!

J.W. Anderson - He Shoots, He Scores

Well we knew it was on the cards. This week it has been confirmed that LVMH has taken a stake in J.W. Anderson and the designer has been named as the new Creative Director of Loewe. I can only  imagine how elated he must of felt signing on the doted line.

My Picks - Loewe Fall 12

Stuart Vevers and his team should be celebrating tonight, although the palette was black on black the fabrications and leaner more tailored silhouette was precise. The contrast of surfaces from matt to grainy were beautifully moulded into baseball style jackets, capes and longer length tailored coats. I am really impressed with the craftsmanship and overall look of the catwalk presentation, definitely one to watch in Pre Spring.
