Working moodboard/details/inspiration

Since I decided to become a freelance RTW designer a year ago I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of exciting projects. I thought I'd share one of the latest ones with you guys as it is true to my personal aesthetic. I have been working with the development and production team at Mr Start in Shoreditch designing their new SS15 range. 

Known for androgynous, minimal tailoring. Mr Start Woman continues to encapsulate the Uptown girl gone Downtown. For SS15 she goes about her day with a certain nonchalance - in soft cashmere sweaters, slit pencil skirts, easy wrap blazers and her borrowed boyfriends shirts. Lengths are longer, shapes are leaner. 

She is creating new rules of dressing with a re-energized confidence.

My Picks - JW Anderson SS15 RTW

The oversized floppy fisherman hat took centre stage at JW Anderson's SS15 show. The bigger the better, so some may say. 

Garments had an architectural feel. Geometric shapes were constructed in leather and added through details such as the oversized buttons and lapels.

My Picks - Edun SS15 RTW

Danielle Sherman has made a strong impression since becoming Creative Director at Edun in 2013. 

For her third season tunics and judo styling heavily featured, silhouettes were spliced through layering.
Obi style belts clench the waists over longer line sleeveless waistcoats and tanks.

The duo's attention to detail and fabric experimentation always draws me in.
The collection is cool and edgy with American sports reference at the forefront.

My Picks - The Row SS15 RTW

Showcased in a disused warehouse, the rare brickwork contrasts with the clean architectural lines of the collection. Full A-line silhouettes, lantern shaped sleeves and experimental wrapping were key components. 

Long swaths of fabric criss crossed the body. The morning light streams through the venue highlighting the rich slub linens and heavy woven silks. A standout collection oozing luxury.

My Picks - Victoria Beckham SS15 RTW

This evening I feel like Sarah Jessica Parker in Sex & the City, as I blog from the East Village in New York. 

This is the first time in a week or so that I have had chance to start posting about the shows. 

We all know September is one of the busiest months for all creatives. 

Let's rewind to NYFW, and take a look at Victoria Beckham's show. The collection showed more outerwear pieces than usual as well as an unexpected floral print. The silhouette was neat, long and lean with modern utility detailing. 

Described by many as the City wardrobe, pieces were versatile with a sense of purpose.

My Picks - SS15 Menswear London Detail Shots

Here are some of the details and styling I like so far this season. Margaret Howell has portrayed a classic British fishing scene complete with slim neck scarves. J.W. Anderson has combined preppy looks with sportswear elements. 

Finally, Pringle of Scotland has stayed true to its roots, developing fractured knitted jacquards and checks complimented by strong tailored concepts.
