Although this brand was launched back in 1999 after Chitose Abe had completed a eight year stint at Commes De Garçons, it is only now that it is getting the press it deserves. Taking inspiration from her surroundings and everyday life, Abe deconstructs classic garment templates.
This Fall the ready to wear collection was all about outerwear including masculine overcoats, the biker, shearling and puffa jackets, these items were merged together creating new silhouettes.
Sacai is now stocked internationally. If this seasons up roar was anything to go by, we will be seeing a lot more of Abe's compelling garments going forward.
