My Picks - Balenciaga SS14 RTW

I've always said it but imagine rummaging through the Balenciaga archives, I guess thats what Wang is doing bit by bit. I am hoping to get over to the museum in the Basque region of Spain next year to take a closer look at Cristobal's legacy.
A house famed for its architectural approach. I'm glad to see those forms being utilised.

My Edit - The Shirt

A staple piece in my closet is the shirt. Crisp cotton, denim, striped, linen, you name it. The shirt is so versatile, dress it up or down. A heel, brogue or sneakers can give it such a different look. I'm keeping my eye out this season, currently being inspired by street style snaps. Cool, effortless style all in the form of a shirt combo.

My Picks - Prada SS14 RTW

Literally, could Miuccia Prada be any cooler! I'm sure your all thinking the same. Her and her team presented a bold array of pop art garments. Ruffled bras, sporty knit detailing, all in vivid primary colours, all of which were mashed up together.

Miuccia Prada tempts all types of  contradictions in her work. This collection for sure will cause debate, which I assume is exactly what Miuccia intended.

J.W. Anderson - He Shoots, He Scores

Well we knew it was on the cards. This week it has been confirmed that LVMH has taken a stake in J.W. Anderson and the designer has been named as the new Creative Director of Loewe. I can only  imagine how elated he must of felt signing on the doted line.

One To Watch - Ming Ma

Sunday is upon us, my favourite day of the week especially if I can sit back, relax, reading 'The Times'.
Just my luck that today I have to work, but not before a few sneaky posts.

I've raved about the website before but 1 Granary really showcases new raw talent from the alumni at Central Saint Martins, among various other topics.

I had to focus on BA student Ming Ma who has been successfully accepted to progress onto the MA course. You can see below from her work that she has strong skills in pattern cutting and draping. It just so happens that she was inspired by artists such as Duilio Barnabé and Geoffrey Beene, both of which are artists I draw inspiration from. Perhaps thats why I like her clean, sculptured pieces so much. With the freedom CSM offers I look forward to seeing this designer develop her skills.

My Picks - Christopher Kane SS14 RTW

Bold petal-shaped portholes, iridescent plastic, oversized diagrams showcasing photosynthesis and botanical reproduction, guess who? Kane of course. Us Londoners can always trust that Christopher Kane will push any subject matter, including florals to a new dimension.

LFW & MFW - Street Style

Sorry for my absence. I have a lot of projects on at the moment and I need a really good wifi connection to be able to work on my blog, some hotels really need to sort it out! The next few months are really busy with trips to NY, Hong Kong and India so please bare with me.

I have been going over the collections, what are your thoughts? I think a lot of brands have really pushed embroidery and applique work this season, its really exciting to see new techniques. Also, sheer layering guys...ORGANZA is a new craze, its everywhere!

Before I delve any deeper, here are my selection of street style snaps which I am loving, and would happily rock up in at the studio.

The Hunt.

Our hunt continues as we search for a small studio flat in East London. I keep getting terribly tempted by household purchases even though we still haven't found our new pad as of yet. Finding a safe haven, with character at a reasonable price seems a little more tricky than I first anticipated.

Drooling over these Swedish apartments:

My Picks - J.W. Anderson SS14 RTW

Speculation is rife. Have they, haven't they? Will he, won't he? J.W. Anderson is currently in the international spotlight, and word has it LVMH are keen to get his brand on their books.
This is such an exciting time for an experimental, London based brand.

My Picks - Proenza Schouler SS14 RTW

I found this collection so hard to edit because the shape, textures and foiling techniques really appeal to my personal aesthetic. I find every season Proenza's attention to detail and finish is even more refined. I definitely wish to buy into this season, there are so many great pieces, and those shoes are simply divine!
